For those who are still weeping over the demise of Desperate Housewives, you need not worry! Creator Marc Cherry is back and has brought with him a new show based on the hit Mexican telenovela ‘Ellas son la Alegría del Hogar’ (which funnily enough, was inspired by Desperate Housewives) called ‘Devious Maids‘. Teaming up with Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria who has a producer tag on the show, Devious Maids has been picked up by ‘Lifetime’ and given a 13 episode order.
Lifetime network offered by this rundown not to long ago:
“Following the lives of five maids with ambition and dreams of their own while they work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills, Devious Maids will star Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), Judy Reyes (The Pregnancy Project), Dania Ramirez (Entourage), Roselyn Sanchez (Without a Trace), Edy Ganem (Livin’ Loud), Grant Show (Melrose Place), Brianna Brown (Homeland), Rebecca Wisocky (American Horror Story), Tom Irwin (Grey’s Anatomy), Mariana Klaveno (True Blood), Brett Cullen (Damages), Drew Van Acker (Pretty LittleLiars) and television icon Susan Lucci (All My Children).”
