2013 and 2014 are shaping up to be big years for actress Gillian Anderson. After leaving the successful X-Files, Anderson spent many years over in the UK showing up in mostly costume drama mini series and the occasional appearance on the big screen (X-Files Fight the Future and Johnny English Reborn) but for the most part, has generally avoided any permanent scripted weekly television series.
But that’s all now changed. Fans can currently catch her on Channel 7’s Psychological drama thriller Hannibal as Hannibal Lecter’s therapist Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier. Along side Hannibal Anderson is also headlining BBC Police drama The Fall, currently airing in the UK and about to hit Netflix in the US and in the new drama Crisis scheduled to premiere in March on NBC in 2014.
“The Fall” stars “X-Files” veteran Anderson as Stella Gibson, a detective hunting a serial killer in Belfast. The series has been such a smash hit that a second series has just been announced.
Between The Fall, Hannibal and Crisis, it seems Gillian Anderson is in high demand!
