American Horror Story Moves to the Carnival

AHS Regular Jessica Lange will be back for season 4

The last time we heard anything about American Horror Story’s upcoming fourth season, we were being told that Jessica Lange was practicing her German accent and that the time setting would be the 1950’s.  There’s been many theories scattered around the theme for the new season and now, finally, one has been confirmed.

In a podcast with Nerdist Writers Panel, AHS writer and co-executive producer Douglas Petrie spilled the setting of Season 4. When first asked about it, he quickly responded, “I can say nothing.” Then Moira Kirkland, a writer for “Castle” and “Arrow” also on the podcast, said, “Well I don’t know if it’s true, but I heard carnival.” Petrie responded, “Yes — that was the, it — it does not have a title.”

The theme of carnival or circus were highly popular theories earlier this year when a selection of fan-made posters hit the internet that then went viral with co-creator Ryan Murphy telling EW.com that “No one has completely guessed what it is.” – guess these guys who made the posters were close!

Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett have apparently all signed on for the new season with reports this is set to be Lange’s final venture within the AHS landscape.

  1. I always look forward to AHS, but I have to admit, it is Lange and Rabe who keep me coming back time and again. I can’t say for sure how I would feel about the series without one of them present.
