Could Charmed be Joining the Reboot Ranks?

Back in October 2013 news began to surface that CBS were interested in breathing new life back into the supernatural Aaron Spelling show Charmed which starred Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty and Rose McGowan.  Nothing really eventuated from it and Charmed and its fan went back into hibernation mode until one of its stars – Alyssa Milano, began to re-stir that magic reboot cauldron.

Speaking recently with Entertainment Tonight, Milano says “It seems like that’s going to happen any second. I just feel like with all these reunions, and we still have such a cult following, that I feel like someone’s going to put that together at some point and we’re all totally on board for that!”

By “all these reunions”, Milano is referring to the successful re-launch of 80’s sitcom Full House into Fuller House for Netflix which was recently renewed for a second season and the soon to come Gilmore Girls reunion and let’s not forget the hugely popular X-Files comeback for FOX too.

But don’t be expecting Netflix or any other network to be announcing any news as CBS still maintain the rights to Charmed (along with Aaron Spellings entire catalog) and have still yet to move forward on any plans for a reboot, which as stated above, began circling in 2013.  At that time, only a pilot script had been ordered to be penned by Party Of Five co-creator Chris Keyser and partner Sydney Sidner.

Milano took to twitter to clarify her Charmed reboot comments and let us all in on what she currently knows about the project:

So, as it stands, a Charmed reboot is in development by CBS, but without the original cast. Would you watch a new Charmed show without the original cast or would a reboot/reunion with the original stars work better?  Sound off in the comments section above!
