After a few weeks of “will it be?” comments about Call of Duty’s next annual outing, publisher Activision teasingly announced/confirmed that Black Ops 4 will be the next release in the long running first person shooter series.
Along with developer Treyarch, Activision did not reveal much more information than that, adding that there will be more details to come on May 17 with a full community reveal of the game.
Currently, Black Ops 4 has been given a release date of October 12 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The October release date marks the first time in over a decade that Call of Duty has not been released in early November.
The previous Black Ops release – Black Ops 3 – released back in November of 2015 and still maintains a healthy player list, just received a small DLC update containing a snowy variant of the Redwood map and the addition of the popular Infected game mode.
