Tyler Blackburn Returning to Pretty Little Liars

Tyler Blackburn will be back as Caleb Rivers in Pretty Little Liars

ABC Family announced today that Tyler Blackburn will be returning to hit teen drama Pretty Little Liars after the cancellation of the drama spin-off Ravenswood in which Blackburn headlined.

Blackburn will be making a return to Rosewood early in the fifth season, back as a season regular though no real details have been released as to how and when his character – Caleb Rivers, will make his return, though Caleb is expected to be back in the lives of ex girlfriend Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson) and her mother Ashley Marin (Laura Leighton).

What this means for Hanna and her relationship with Caleb remains unknown.  Since Caleb’s departure, Hanna hit a downward spiral and has been showing romantic interests in both Travis Hobbs (Luke Kleintank) and Detective Gabriel Holbrook (Sean Faris) much to her mothers dismay.

Pretty Little Liars executive producer Oliver Goldstick would only say that “it’s a lovely reunion.

ABC Family cancelled Ravenswood on Feb 14th after a lackluster first season that saw the spin-off fail to reach the same highs as Pretty Little Liars.

ABC Family Cancel’s PLL Spin-Off Ravenswood

Image

It was supposed to be the next big show for ABC Family.  On paper, it should have been.  A spin-off from the networks biggest show Pretty Little Liars with the added bonus of lead Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn – a PLL favourite) moving from Rosewood to Ravenswood to investigate a mysterious curse that prey’s on the towns teenagers and created by Marlene King…it should have worked but ABC Family announced that after just one season, Ravenswood will not return.

Launched in October last year following the annual PLL Halloween episode, Ravenswood failed to capitalize on the dedicated fanbase and online social presence PLL has a stronghold on.  Most fans seem unable to connect with the show and felt the spin-off had nothing to do with PLL and was in a completely different genre.

The fictional town of Ravenswood featured in the first half of season four of Pretty Little Liars and saw a regular cross-over of main and supporting characters making appearances in the town, but the addition of supernatural elements in the show [Ravenswood]  made Ravenswood seem like a complete 360 on what many were expecting the spin-off to be.

No word on what this means for Tyler Blackburn and a return to the hit teen drama, though I’m assuming fans will be begging PLL creator Marlene King to bring him back to Rosewood and reunite him with his on screen girlfriend Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson)

Ravenswood’s Feb 4th episode also acted as the season closer and series finale.

The cancellation was first reported by TVLINE

While Pretty Little Liars airs Friday nights on FOX8 in Australia, Ravenswood was never picked up by an Australian network.

Pretty Little Liars Offer Up Some Tricks and Treats

Well it’s no secret that Pretty Little Liars creator Marlene King loves to keep fans both wanting answers and enthralled with extended story lines.  For starters, four seasons in and we still don’t know if Alison is even alive!!! – But that’s all set to change with fans getting some answers to some long drawn out questions and I for one can’t wait!

The four main cast members – Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Shay Mitchell and Ashley Benson sat down with Good Morning America to chat about the annual costume themed Halloween episode and happily let on that we will finally be getting answers including one to the biggest question on everyone’s’ lips – by the end of the Halloween episode, we will finally find out if Alison is alive or dead! There’s been leads to both possible answers, especially with the season 4B finale in which we learnt that Cecee was a red coat and that Mrs. Grunwald had seen Alison the night of her disappearance.

If Ali is actually alive and well, the remainder of Season 4 becomes the search for Ali and answers — mainly, where has she been hiding, and more importantly, who has she been hiding from?

We can also expect some tears in this episode thanks to a mutual breakup between Hannah and Caleb.  We already know that Caleb will be leaving for Ravenswood (the new spin-off show) during this episode, but the circumstances surrounding this is still not known and while there is a break between the two, Ashley Benson confirmed we can expect Hannah to pop up in Ravenswood to see Caleb.

I wonder if the big ‘A’ reveal from the 4B finale (Ezra in A’s lair) will have anymore revealed about it!  We’ll only find out when Pretty Little Liars’ Halloween episode airs this Friday, October 25th at 7:30pm on Fox8 via Foxtel.

P.S – As of Sept 17th, Fox8 noted on their Facebook page, that The Pretty Little Liars spin-off Ravenswood would not be added to their line-up due to restrictions in their schedule.

Pretty Little Liars Summer Finale Offers Up Answers

It’s been a long four seasons for Pretty Little Liars fans.  The show has been offering up many questions, but not many answers.  Who is Red Coat, who killed Alison?  Is Alison is actually alive?  Who is Big A?  Well the Summer mid-season finale airing on FOX8 this Friday will reveal some long awaited answers to questions we’ve all been wanting to know!

The liars in Ravenswood

In the episode titled “Now you see me, Now you don’t” the liars find themselves on a trip to Ravenswood where familiar faces are everywhere and one liar goes missing!  But before they can leave Ravenswood, they make a shocking discovery that proves that everything they thought they knew about “A” and the “A” team might be wrong. With this discovery, the Liars may just have started “World War A”.

Meanwhile, Hannah (Ashley Bensen) and Ashley Marin’s (Laura Leighton) reunion may be cut short after ‘A’ sets their sights on a new target.

So what answers can we expect to get in this mid-season finale?  The long awaited ‘who the heck is red coat’ will finally be revealed.  Many fans have taken a stab at guessing, and pretty much every character on the show from Aria (Lucy Hale) to Ella (Holly Marie-Combs) have been offered up as the mysterious red coat but currently, all signs point to Cee Cee Drake (Vanessa Ray)

We will also find out more about the night that Alison disappeared.  Says Sasha Pieterse who plays Alison, “There are people that she saw on that night that you would never never expect,” she says. “Alison had a lot of secrets of her own and she was really good at keeping them and obviously there was someone after her, or people after her and there’s a reason for that. She has blackmailed so many people.”

Also expect to see Travis (Luke Kleintank) become a target for ‘A’ after his revealing confession saw Ashley Marin cleared of Wilden’s murder.  In a preview clip of Friday’s finale, Travis is asked to identify the woman he saw leaving before the shots were fired that killed Wilden (We know Ashley and Wilden met the night he died) but is seen hesitating the positive ID of Ashley.

And finally – a new member of the ‘A’ team is revealed in a shocking closing scene that will have many fans up in anger!

Let’s hope that when the mid-season finale airs on Friday, we’ll have more answers than we do questions!

World War A airs this Friday, 7:30pm on Fox8

Fans Set to Turn on Pretty Little Liars Favorite

Pretty Little Liars star Laura Leighton as Ashley Marin

Pretty Little Liars fans could be set to take Lairs favorite Ashley Marin (Laura Leighton) off their list of loved characters in the soon-to-come fourth season.

A tweet from ET Online’s Jarett Wieselman’s has got fans worried. The tweet: “@AshBenzo said fans are gonna ‘hate’ Hanna’s mom this season”.

This is a big call from star Ashley Benson considering Ashley Marin, with her protective nature, has fast become a fan favorite over the past few seasons.

So what could it be that Ashley does to turn fans away?  Rumors are flying about that with the news of Tyler Blackburn (Caleb) leaving for spin-off series Ravenswood, Ashley may be the reason behind it.  Another possibility could involve the ‘A’ club as it’s been no secret that Ashley Marin has been suggested by fans as being a member (Remember the Black Swan?) and constantly flits on and off the radar as being a member.  Either way, Ashley will have to do something major to cause fans to turn on her!

Ravenswood, the newly created spin-off series from hit teen drama Pretty Little Liars has been given it’s first cast member and it’s a Pretty Little Liars favorite.

Caleb Rivers, played by actor Tyler Blackburn, is headed to the new series that is scheduled to premiere right after the annual PLL Halloween special in October and will see Caleb’s PLL and Ravenswood story-lines intertwine.

Boyfriend of Hanna Marin (Ashley Benson), Caleb will be seen heading to Ravenswood in the Halloween special and will continue on into the new series premiere.  It has been stated that Blackburn will still be seen in PLL during the fourth season before officially moving to Ravenswood in October, but how this will affect Caleb’s relationship with Hanna?  Only time will tell.

Perhaps we may even see Hanna and her protective mother Ashley (Laura Leighton) heading to Ravenswood every now and again?

Pretty Little Liars returns for it’s fourth season premiere Tuesday June 11th on ABCFamily.
